Transformers Robots
The robot genre has advanced to a completely new level by the introduction of Transformers Robots. These robots are automatic robots that double up as weapon machines. When under threat, they change their attire into that of a biped machine and attack the enemy with full fervor.
Transformers Robots are composite machines that possess a distinct personality. They are quite different from your other robots. They are convertibles. They can change into vehicles, or weapon machines. They are larger and more powerful than a regular robot.
Transformers Robots can be defined as robots that are self-forming. In simpler words, a Transformer Robot can change itself at regular intervals to perform different functions. In small-scale self-reconstitution of robots, the modules are quite cheap like the inexpensive robots that interchange cell phones.
Transformers Robots Replicas
When we talk about these robots, no doubt, the movie Transformers comes to mind. The already legendary characters of Optimus Prime, Ironhide and Bumblebee are nothing but excellent examples of path-breaking technology. The way in which these ‘autobots’ convert into big trucks, is a good thought. Given the extra-ordinary money it would cost and the complexity of the systems that would make it quite complex to turn it on all at once, it is nearly impossible to provide that kind of power to run it.
The movie had created a buzz, months before its release due to its distinct concept of trucks, trailers, even mobiles doubling up as Transformers Robots. No doubt, it has paved the way for adding new dimension to robotics. It has increased curiosity in engineers to actually see if this is possible.
Today, they have achieved that to quite a limit. A normal robot could be built on 3 power sources- electric, hydraulic and fuel. However, to run a large-scale robot like Optimus Prime, hydraulic power is used; any other resource is not possible. They provide extreme efficiency (generation-to-weight ratio). However, it would need a tank to power by itself. Even the world’s fastest walking robot—ASIMO robot can walk at just 2 mph for 40 minutes (it is electrically powered). Therefore, imagine the fuel and horsepower required to run a giant like the Optimus Prime! All in all, it only looks real in the movie.
These robots have to be given commands on where to place their legs (they are bipeds- i.e. walk on two legs). They don’t possess ‘Feedback Mechanism’ like humans; they have to be given commands like lift right leg to this level, go back by these many step and the like.
Transformers Robots would be nothing short of a miracle if they were to be brought into reality.
